After two sold out dinners in 2024, Australia's singing cook joins forces with Pony and Cole and Modernist Adelaide to present her multi award-winning musical food sensation, Comfort Food Cabaret: A Mid-Century Menu. Michelle Pearson returns to Tasting Australia with her popular fusion of live music, cooking class, dining and storytelling which is performed as the ultimate dinner and show experience. Joining inner-west institution, Pony and Cole in their original 1960’s café, audiences will enjoy a live band with Michelle's hilarious and heart-warming storytelling through song and recipes that celebrate SA produce and nostalgic culinary classics by celebrated head chef, Niccole Hahn. Comfort Food Cabaret has been presented at Tasting Australia as sold out dinner events in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2024 and has been performed at Copenhagen’s three Michelin star restaurant Geranium, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Australia House and Freemasons Hall in London and numerous food and arts festivals around Australia. Audiences have embraced Michelle's personal tales, delicious recipes and heartfelt interpretations of pop, rock and jazz tunes. Winner of the coveted South Australian Government's 2019 Made in Adelaide Award and 2023 Best Food and Drink Event at the Adelaide Fringe, this immersive experience will celebrate local suppliers and classic dishes from the 50s and 60’s with a 21st century twist. Includes a canape and drink on arrival. Wines, beer and non-alcoholic options can be purchased throughout the evening. Dietary requirements can be catered for if known in advance.
